Will he be able to hold the fort on all three gates?
Narrative
The journey of a man discovering himself, finding love and fighting for his country. When I got to know that AP Arjun was directing a story written by Arjun Sarja and starring Dhruva Sarja, I should have sensed from afar how mediocre the film would be. Ravi Basrur’s music is not my favourite but this one was even worse than all his previous works.
There were twists in the first half
Arjun Sarja’s previous directorial works (especially those featuring his daughter) were goofy so it was natural that he would spoil Dhruva Sarja’s Martin. But this time the director is AP Arjun who has given Dhruva Sarja some decent rom-com hits earlier. His direction was okay in some scenes but fails miserably in everything else.
There were some good camera shots, but they were very few and far between
While all of them were predictable, some came as a surprise due to the style of the script. And just when I started to feel like this was going to be good, it started to go downhill again. And this time it went downhill even more, with choppy editing, loud and jarring nonsensical backgrounds, weird dialogue narration (there is dialogue that rhymes martin with protein), tanks, motorcycles, bombs, green screens of desert, CGI fights and more!
The color grading is average
Other production values are barely decent. The only good thing about this movie is that they didn’t reveal anything in the trailer. They deliberately kept the audience’s expectations low so that this movie could at least be called “average” when it is below that!
The movie has everything except a logical story and good direction
There were no comedy scenes in the movie (at least better, considering how vulgar KFI comedies are), maybe because the movie itself is a joke?! Better to skip it unless you want to hide in the theater for some reason.
